Jim Modera has been practicing physical therapy since 1985.He opened Finger Lakes Physical Therapy in 1987 and since then has expanded to include Geneva and Penn Yan offices. Jim has advanced post graduate clinical training in a variety of orthopedic treatment philosophies and specialties including ergonomic evaluations, functional capacity evaluations, acupuncture, myofascial release, joint mobilizations of the spine and extremities, McKenzie training for the spine and extremities, and manual therapy techniques which include muscle energy, joint manipulation and medicine training therapy. Jim has given work site trainings and job site assessments for many local businesses, industrial facilities, and offices. Jim has been hired by power plants, chemical plants, law offices, medical offices and telephone companies, as well as a number of other offices and production facilities, to provide injury prevention seminars and ergonomic recommendations.

In addition to extensive training in the science and application of physical therapy techniques, Mr. Modera does what all good health practioners do; he cares for his patients and works for positive resolution of their pain and dysfunction.

Kathryn Scibona

Kathryn, a life long resident of Geneva, NY, received her Master’s of Physical Therapy in May, 2006. Her educational experiences include such honors and activities as the National Dean’s list, Bome Scholarship for clinical and academic excellence, APTA liaison and affiliations in specialized spine and upper extremity. Kathryn has an extensive knowledge in human anatomy following work as a Gross Anatomy teaching assistant and as a student editor of a clinical anatomy textbook.

Christine, who lives on Keuka Lake near Hammondsport, NY, enjoys the variety of treatments and patients she works with at Finger Lakes Physical Therapy and Sports Care. She assists Jim Modera in the treatment of patients by providing exercise instruction and application of physical therapy modalities including laser, ultrasound, electric stimulation and soft tissue mobilization. Jean is a resident of Geneva. She heads up our front office staff and handles insurance and billing matters. Prompt, courteous attention to the insurance considerations and scheduling needs of our clientele is her number one priority. Appointments are scheduled promptly and conflicts are resolved in a timely manner.
